Gujarat Rain

Gujarat Rain has once again brought fresh alerts for the people of the state. According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy showers are likely in many parts of Saurashtra, North Gujarat, and South Gujarat over the next few days. The weather system has become active due to the strengthening of the monsoon trough and the upper air cyclonic circulation, which is expected to trigger continuous rainfall across the region.

Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Saurashtra, North and South Gujarat

The IMD has warned that Saurashtra will see widespread showers, while North and South Gujarat districts are also on high alert. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected, with wind speeds reaching up to 40–50 km per hour. These conditions are likely to prevail for at least the next five to seven days.

Meteorologists have pointed out that the combined effect of the monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation will result in medium to heavy rainfall in several districts. Citizens are advised to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall hours.

Yellow and Orange Alerts Issued

Today, a yellow alert for rain has been issued in four districts and in the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Additionally, 13 more districts are under yellow alert due to possible heavy rainfall.

For tomorrow, the situation becomes even more serious. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts in Saurashtra, Sabarkantha in North Gujarat, and Navsari and Valsad in South Gujarat. The Union Territories of Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli are also under orange alert.

Apart from this, a yellow alert has been announced for 12 districts, including Porbandar, Rajkot, Amreli, and Bhavnagar in Saurashtra, as well as Banaskantha, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Surat, Tapi, and Dang.

Authorities have also hoisted signal number three at all ports across the state as a precautionary measure, warning fishermen not to venture into the sea for at least the next five days.

Rainfall Recorded in 212 Talukas

In the past 24 hours, rain has been recorded in as many as 212 talukas across 33 districts of Gujarat. The highest rainfall was reported in Pardi taluka of Valsad district, where around 4 inches of rain was recorded. Dharampur taluka also received around 3 inches.

Other notable rainfall figures include Kharegam in Navsari, Kaprada in Valsad, and Talod in Sabarkantha, each of which received more than 2 inches of rainfall. These statistics were confirmed by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar.

Seasonal Rainfall Crosses 75 Percent in Gujarat

Authorities on High Alert

Given the heavy Gujarat rain forecast, the state administration is on full alert. Disaster management teams are closely monitoring vulnerable areas, especially low-lying regions prone to waterlogging. Fishermen have been strongly advised to stay away from the sea until further notice.

The SEOC has also appealed to the public to follow weather advisories, avoid unnecessary travel, and take precautions against lightning and strong winds.

Conclusion

The Gujarat Rain forecast highlights the intensity of this year’s monsoon, with several districts already witnessing heavy downpours. With yellow and orange alerts issued for multiple regions, residents are urged to remain cautious. While the rainfall has helped boost the state’s seasonal average to over 75%, safety measures are equally important to minimize risks.

The coming days will be crucial, especially for coastal and rural areas, as the monsoon continues to remain active across Saurashtra, North, and South Gujarat.
