Ahmedabad, Gujarat: In a state-level Teacher Award Ceremony held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat CM Patel honoured 30 distinguished teachers with the prestigious Best Teacher Award. The event, organized by the Education Department, celebrated the invaluable role of teachers in shaping India’s future and highlighted the importance of embedding the values of Swadeshi and Nation First among children.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while addressing the gathering, said that today’s children are tomorrow’s responsible citizens, making it crucial for teachers to instill strong values from a young age. He called upon educators to guide students in a way that aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Speaking at the event, Gujarat CM Patel quoted Prime Minister Modi, stressing that after parents, teachers hold the greatest influence on a child’s development. He highlighted that the bond between a teacher and a student is one of affection, not of blood, making it one of the most sacred relationships in society.
The Chief Minister added that teachers have a unique opportunity to shape future generations by nurturing creativity, instilling discipline, and promoting the idea of a Viksit Bharat through a Viksit Gujarat. At the ceremony, 30 teachers from across Gujarat were awarded the Best Teacher Award, while five students also received certificates of excellence for their outstanding achievements. On the same occasion, Education Minister Kuber Dindor felicitated teachers at the district (94) and taluka (153) levels.
The Chief Minister congratulated all the awardees on the occasion of the 137th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s second President and a lifelong teacher. He described the recognition of teachers on this day as the “right job at the right time.”

He also mentioned the inspiring journey of Ranjitsinh Disale, a teacher from Maharashtra who won the Global Teacher Prize, known as the “Nobel Prize of Teaching.”

Addressing the role of modern education, Education Minister Dindor acknowledged that schools today are integrating AI, robots, and digital technology in classrooms. However, he emphasized that while machines can teach technical skills, only teachers can instill values, ethics, and culture in students. A short film titled “Amara Shikshak Amara Margdarshak” (Our Teacher, Our Guide) produced by the Education Department was also showcased, paying tribute to the contribution of teachers.
