If anyone wants to throw me out for this, they can go ahead.”

Abu Azmi’s Response to Nitesh Rane
When asked about Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane’s earlier remarks, Azmi strongly criticized him. He said Rane’s only aim was to spread hate between Hindus and Muslims. “He has no other work. His agenda is just to divide people on the basis of religion. Our work is to spread brotherhood, not hatred,” Azmi stated.
His counterattack highlights the deep political tensions around cultural and religious events in Maharashtra, where Navratri is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Views on India-Pakistan Cricket Match
Apart from Navratri, Abu Azmi also commented on the much-debated India-Pakistan cricket match. According to him, the majority of Indians are against playing matches with Pakistan due to its role in sponsoring terrorism.
Azmi suggested that if the government cannot avoid these matches, then the money earned from broadcasting rights, advertisements, and sponsorships should be given to the families of soldiers martyred in terrorist attacks. This statement has been praised by some for its sensitivity toward martyrs’ families, while others believe it oversimplifies a complex issue.
On GST Reforms
When asked about GST reforms, the SP MLA did not mince words. He said, “I do not consider this a gift. My question is, why did the government collect so much GST from people all these years?
