  • ₹2,700 crore for water metro projects in Patna, Varanasi, and Kolkata

Bahuda Port and Industrialization

A major highlight of the Sagarmala 2.0 Projects is the announcement of Bahuda Port, a new mega port with a capacity of 150 million tonnes per annum. Along with this, 35,000 acres of salt land will be developed for maritime-linked industries, boosting exports and creating large-scale employment.

The Prime Minister listed several Sagarmala 2.0 Projects across India’s ports:

  • VO Chidambaranar Port (Thoothukudi): ₹41 crore for development works.
  • Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (Kolkata): ₹698 crore for strengthening berths 7 and 8, ₹260 crore for a floating LNG terminal, and ₹846 crore for an outer container terminal.
  • Paradip Port Authority: ₹477 crore for South Container Berth, ₹499 crore for South Quay Berth, ₹631 crore for multipurpose mechanization, and ₹683 crore for North Dock cargo handling.
  • Kamarajar Port Limited: ₹25 crore for fire safety systems and ₹58 crore for concrete roads.

  • ₹80 crore for a Green Bio-Methanol Plant.
  • ₹1,719 crore for a multi-purpose cargo berth at Tuna Tekra.
  • ₹62 crore for a new administrative building.
  • ₹98 crore each for Oil Jetty No. 9 and common connectivity platforms (berths 8–11).
  • ₹61 crore for road connectivity to a Green Hydrogen plot in Padana.
